Artist Statement

I work with acrylics and mediums to create representational landscapes. The scenes I paint are emotionally driven and reflect a sense of inner calm or happiness. I employ a color palette meant to soothe, uplift, and heal, and I use quiet areas of the canvas to give the viewer's mind a place to rest and rejuvenate. Some of my paintings contain a gold medium that is fragile and a nice balance to the confidence of my brushwork. I also use it to symbolize strength and happiness. That duality - fragility, and strength, brings honest self-expression to my work. I hope to inspire well-being, happiness, and contentment through my art. Painting brings those sentiments to me and I want to invite others to feel that way.
