I work intuitively resulting in what I call abstract impressions informed by a lifetime of visual experiences. I'm drawn to the beauty of nature and it's usually depicted somewhere in my work. Two of my submissions have that, the other is purely abstract. I love exploring textures, and love working with collage. The collage papers I use are some I've hand printed or painted. I'm a Mixed Media Artist and use acrylics, acrylic inks, inks, charcoal, oil pastels, and pastels, gouache powders, watercolor, and use collage in my work much of the time. I also work on different substrates, mostly watercolor paper, mineral paper, canvas, or cradled wood panels. The 3 works I've submitted all happen to be on paper, matted and framed, however.

As a semiabstract/abstract artist I approach my work without a strict plan of what exactly I will paint. I may have an inspiration from a color, a flower, or even the light. I begin, and it takes me on a journey. As I work, the painting tells me what it needs and where it wants to go, and I endeavor to be true to my own aesthetic to continue. l've learned to trust this process.
