My pictures begin by using paper, cardboard, and plastic scrap materials as a support and then painted or cut into.  Surrealist techniques, like Automatist drawing and collage, are used to create unconscious lines. The unconscious "meandering" lines intersecting suggest shapes I can use. The shapes discovered inside the picture, often determine the shape of the outside edges.
