Artist Statement

I am an Artist that enjoys creating works of Art in many different disciplines.

I have been a Smartphonographer for many years.

Starting in 2010 with the iPhone 4. I quickly realized the camera inside these phones were powerful enough to capture a decent image. I liked the idea of always having a camera near me as well as the ability to share it with others immediately.

Through the years the camera phones technology has allowed it to be a viable source for creating art.

A few years ago, I started the Fone Art Studio. I created a studio that has the ability to take anyone’s smartphone photos and print them out on metal, tile, paper or wood panels. A few years ago, I had a Solo Exhibit showcasing my iPhone works of Art at the Cherry Hill Library Gallery. I also am founder and Moderator for the Mobile Photography User Group [MPUG] that meets every month. I also teach classes on how to take better photos with your phone and how to process them using smartphone apps.

I also enjoy other creative mediums. I have taken Mosaic classes at Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood. That experience gave me the confidence to create high quality works of Art including serving trays, mailboxes and most recently a guitar. The guitar was recently displayed at the Perkins Gallery in Moorestown.

Earlier this year I started to create small Abstract Acrylic paintings and have found a new love for the discipline. The three pieces I am submitting for your “Small Works” show exemplify some of them. They all are small acrylic paintings on 12” x 12” wood panels. Once I find a consistent creative voice for these new works, I plan to scale them up to larger wood panels and canvases.
