Artist Statement

My work has always been very experimental. I like to utilize a broad range of mediums, unique styles, and varying concepts. I think art is as much about the artist's vision as it is the viewer's interpretation, which we see come to light when some of the most perplexing pieces become sensical when paired with the artist's statement of intention/purpose. Some of my art is deeply personal while some is simply to capture what I believe to be beautiful. I enjoy working with animal subjects because I am fascinated by the various anatomies and textures in the animal kingdom. I spend a lot of time drawing ink portraits of people's pets, and I feel that I can actually start to understand that individual. So when viewing my work, I ask that you pay particular attention to the detail I've captured and think about your unique life experiences and acquired knowledge. Have you ever noticed that stray whisker on your cat's face? Or that indent on your dog's forehead? Let my art inspire you to slow down and appreciate all the beautiful parts of every beautiful thing.
