ARTIST STATEMENT
I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the American urban environment. My urban abstract paintings begin with several layers of paint which I scrape back and sand between coats. As the urban landscape begins to reveal itself I embellish the outlines with vibrant colors continually scraping back and adding even more color and texture to finally reveal a patchwork quilt of urban decay, history and renewal.
