Abstraction, whether geometric or nongeometric is the language that pervades my art.  Color can be described as the inflections that further give voice to each work. I view my abstractions as reflections of life as I feel it and imagine it. Colors, shapes, marks, geometry become characters, dialogue, landscapes, imaginings. The space often being somewhere in a mysterious universe.

The "Floating World" paintings and "Jostling Jottings or Reformation" were done after a cross country move to Philadelphia from California, where I had spent most of my adult life. I view them as a 'soup' of choices. Decisions to be made and questioned to establish directions to be followed and re-established.
