New Year, New Class, New Skills. The Artist Re-Boot Camp Series at Powell Lane Arts

Being an artist is hard. We want to help. So for 2024, we’ve tried to design 3 essential courses. Pick one to polish up or register for all three for a full re-boot.

Let’s make this the year submissions became a little easier!

PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR ARTWORK: SUN 02.18.24 @ 1 PM

Do you need better results when photographing your works for submitting to Exhibits or posting on social media? Join photographer, graphic designer and artist, Jeff Feeny for “Photographing your Artwork”. All you need is a piece of your art on which to practice, the camera on your mobile phone, a tripod [optional], an iPad [optional] and the Snapseed App. You will learn to setup your artwork in the best light, to shoot it for optimal results and how to quickly edit it.

So join in for a fun afternoon! (And, of course, snacks.)

WRITING YOUR ARTIST STATEMENT: SUN 02.25.24 @ 1 PM

Artist statements can be hard. But with a few tips (ok, best practices), you can quickly and more confidently draft custom artist statements for your website, social media, open calls and exhibitions.

In this class, gallerist, curator and artist, Carol Taylor-Kearney, will walk you through hands-on examples, discuss artist statement v. biography, define how to frame your statement, and help you draft a statement that can be polished for all of your needs.

You bring your ideas; we'll get snacks.
