My work is based on based on seeing recognizable patterns in objects and abstract images.  It combines elements of landscape, figures and words. It involves perceiving objects, shapes, or scenery as meaningful things that relate to a viewer's experience, and then presenting them similar to a Rorschach test. The starting inspiration of my painting can be a hypnagogic image seen before sleep, a used palette, a portion of a Xerox photocopy, or a phrase. One of my goals is to show the work in an interactive manner that allows different viewers to respond by describing what they see in each piece.
