My work is often made from reclaimed material like cardboard boxes and plastic bags into a collaged surface. The surfaces suggest shapes and forms that I build on with painted marks. Sometimes there is a figurative image that comes about from these marks but not always. The rough edges of the material creates a harmony between the edges of brush strokes. The material choice comes from wanting to get away from traditional materials and embrace what is typically discarded in a society of high consumption.
