Artist Statement
There is a fine line between painting a realistic portrait of an animal and a striking impression of them. Experimenting with oil over a metal leaf, impasto techniques, varied brushwork, and control over light and dark push me to create works to visually stimulate the viewer. Forming a bond with a creature so different from us does change us into better humans.
