Artist Statement 

I am an artist who was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I have lived in Philadelphia since 1980. My mother was a great influence on my art-making, and I often drew sitting side-by-side with her when I was young. I draw people and landscapes from my memory: people I've known, scenes and places from my past. The images form like lines in my head and putting them on paper is like putting them to sleep. My work has been exhibited in the mid-Atlantic region at galleries including Fleisher/Ollman, Philadelphia's Magic Gardens, the Fairmount House, and internationally at Arts Project Australia.
